sharing five things that have made me happy this week.
At this stage in the year spring still seems so far off and I'm longing for some colour and warmth back in my life. So my five things are little signs of hope that things might improve soon.
Sunshine in a jar .... homemade marmalade tastes better than anything shop bought.
Our Christmas Amaryllis in bloom at last.
This plant is truly gigantic .... the picture doesn't convey it's size.
Washing out on the line for the first time this year. Woohoo!
It was still light around half past five this week.
Gorgeous colours .... surely the worst of winter is behind us now.
And best of all, this week it was Shrove Tuesday - begging the question
why oh why do I only make pancakes once a year?
why oh why do I only make pancakes once a year?
But would they taste so good if we had them every week?

Great things Kathy! Your amaryllis is so pretty isn't it!! We have pancakes more than once a year, but probably only twice a year! It is a funny thing isn't it that we don't have them more often. Thank you so much for joining in! xx
ReplyDeleteI love your five on friday. The flowers are so pretty and it's nice to dry the clothes outside - they always smell so nice when dry.
ReplyDeleteWashing on the line. Yay!!! Love blue skies and washing. That really fills me with hope too. We say the sane every year about making pancakes too!
ReplyDeleteThere's so much promise in blue skies at this stage of the year.... Hopefully we are over the worst of the winter now. Jx
ReplyDeletelovely post Kathy. I thought we were over the worse then it started snowing today here!
ReplyDeletelove the look of your marmalade too. xxx
I thought with the sunshine last week that we were over the bad weather, but listening to the wind and rain lashing at my windows this evening has made me think we have a bit more to get through yet! I agree with you on the pancakes, we need to have these at least once per month!! Take care x
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to leave a comment all weekend and this is the three attempt this evening - wifi eh? I didn't realise there was an English version of Five on Friday, I love this weekly round up of good things. The evenings are definitely drawing out and I finally got some washing dry on the line last week too. But my favourite has to be your beautiful Amaryllis - they are stunning!
ReplyDelete*third not three but was too anxious of correcting it in case I lost the connection again! X
ReplyDeleteWashing on the line makes me happy too! (But not the ironing). I love your Five on Friday, Kathy. xx
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have pancakes on Shrove Tuesday so we were going to have them at the weekend but didn't get round to it, perhaps this weekend then. I've just been catching up on your posts from this year, it sounds like you've settled in to retirement very well. I was sorry to hear about your mother in law but pleased to hear that she's made a good recovery. I loved reading about all your hobbies in your last post, your watercolours are fabulous and I've read about Project Life on a few blogs now, it's something I really must look in to as I'm sure I'd enjoy documenting life in this way.
